Santa Elena Canyon Trail (Rio Grande) Distance: 1.5 miles. Difficulty: Easy for all ages.
Lost Mine Trail (Chisos Mountains) Distance: 4.8 miles. Difficulty: Moderate.
Window Trail (Chisos Basin) Distance: 5.2 miles. Difficulty: Moderate.

Our rates can vary depending on casita and the time of year. The advantage of booking directly from our site is you’re just paying for the room and a one-time cleaning fee.

We do have the fastest Wi-Fi in Terlingua. However, we are in the desert and the wi-fi in general for the area can’t be guaranteed 100% throughout your stay.

We love pets, but our casitas are not pet-friendly. For reasons beyond our control, we do not allow pets on the property. There is $350 violation fee of our no-pet policy (including emotional support animals. Please reach out if you are traveling with a certified-service animal.

Yes — Terlingua and Big Bend can be an amazing experience for all ages, especially kids. Please be mindful, our casitas are designed to sleep two comfortably though.

There are great restaurant options near Big Bend National Park in Terlingua Ghost Town. You have Taqueria El Milagro, Startlight Theatre for dinner and Espresso Y Poco Mas for breakfast and coffee.

The world-famous Terlingua International Chili Cook-Off takes place November 4 – November 7, 2026. It draws visitors from around the globe for chili competitions, live music, and desert nightlife. Ghost Town Casitas is an ideal base for the event since it’s just a 9-minute drive from the event.

Spring, Fall, and Winter are the best seasons to visit this outstanding location for gorgeous stargazing. However, summer is known for some of the darkest skygazing skies.

Yes. Guests staying at Desert Pearl have access to a complimentary Tesla Wall Connector during their stay.
The Tesla charger is located on the Ghost Town Casitas property and is available exclusively for registered guests staying at The Desert Pearl.
The charger provides convenient overnight charging for Tesla vehicles, allowing you to wake up with a full battery before exploring Big Bend National Park. Non-Tesla electric vehicles may also be able to use the charger with a compatible adapter, depending on the vehicle.
Desert Pearl is located approximately 10 minutes (7.8 miles) from the west entrance of Big Bend National Park, making it a convenient base for EV travelers visiting the park.
